I wanna show you guys how to make floral hairband by using felts. I used to buy a lot of hairbands when my hair was much longer. And then mass produced hairbands' quality are usually kinda crappy because the ribbons, flowers and whatever details that stuck on the hairband usually come out in a week or two. So I now actually have like 3 hairbands with nothing on it because the whatever embellishments had came out. So this is like a mini hairband refurbishment project for me. Economy no good, have to re-furbish.
And then recently, I've been trying my hands on felt crafts and I had kinda felt in ♥ with it. Because it's so colorful and so nice. And then since I am so artsy fartsy like that, I am planning to do more tutorials on crafty stuffs. Hope you like my first tutorial ah.
Felted Floral Hairband
Here are the ingredients materials that you need to DIY your own hairband.
1) Felts (in color of you choice, I am a pink fanatic, so I've used two shades of pink here. You can use just one color also.)
2) Plain Hairband (If you can't find any, tear out the embellishments from your new hairband. :P)
3) Crystals/Pearls/Beads/Whatever you want to put in the middle
4) Flower Template (You can download and print the template at the end of this post.)
5) UHU Glue (Gun glue oso can.)
6) Scissors
7) Thread and Needle
8) Normal Marker/Felt Marker/Whatever marker that can be used to draw the template onto the felts
This is how you do it!
Cut out the template and draw 5 flowers on the felt(s).
Cut out the flower shape. Cut inside the line because you don't want to see the black line on the flower.
Next, thread your needle.
Put one flower as the base, then fold the second flower into half and put on top of the base. The continue to do the same thing to the rest of the flowers. Until you see step four. (Sorry I dunno how to explain!) >.<
Hold on to the stacks of flowers that you had stacked (-_-") and stich in the middle of the flower liddis. You can stitch as many rounds as you like because the more you stitch the more secure the flower will be.
Stitch the Crystals/Pearls/Beads/Whatever you want to put in the middle.
And your flower is done! Happy onot?
Next, add some glue at the back of the flower (in the center only!) and stick it to your hairband. If you want it to be secured and not easily fall off, stitch the flower to the hairband after you've glued it.
And you're hairband is done! Easy onot?
I like the flower so much, I made a smaller and stick it to a ring. (The original flower on the ring had fell off too)
I've included the small version of flower in the template below too. :D
CAMWHORE TIME!
Hairband and ring. ♥
Please ignore the mess in the background.
Hope you enjoyed the tutorial. If you got any questions, feel free to drop me a comment or e-mail me at saewei [@] gmail [dot] com.

I actually copycat-ed the tutorial from this brilliant blogger, http://icandyhandmade.blogspot.com/2011/03/tutorial-box-fold-felt-flower-tutorial.html. Please thank her instead yah. >.<
P/S: Besides using the made flower as hairband and ring, you can also use it as brooch, earring (small one), stick it onto the gift box, etc. The possibilities are endless!
P/S 2: Please share with me your photo/bloglink after you had DIY one for yourself yah.
