House Moving : Part 3 (Nasty House Movers)

As we were moving in on Tuesday, none of our friends are able to help us out because everyone needs to work. So after some discussions with Eric the agent, we've decided to hire 3 helpers for RM50 per person.

Eventhough I've booked a 3-tonne lorry, those pesky housemovers came with a 5-tonne lorry as they said, according to their "experience", 3-tonne lorry is too small to carry all of our stuffs. And they wanted RM600 for the lorry + helpers. As they were already here, we had no choice but to agree with their arrangements.

This is where the nightmares started.

1) THEY TREATED OUR THINGS LIKE RUBBISH BY THROWING IT AROUND!!!

2) One of the helper even spoilt the tv because he did not pulled out the cable connecting the TV to the DVD player before carrying the TV. After he spoilt it, the supervisor came and told us that they won't carry the TV because the TV will spoil due to the shaking lorry. Mad angry.

3) Instead of carrying the furnitures into the lorry immediately after they carried it down, they left it on the street. And suddenly it rained and all our furnitures and fridge got wet. Hubby was about to explode!

4) Only the furnitures and huge heavy boxes are moved, they were still 40% of our things in the house and they told us that their lorry already full. The small boxes of things we need to carry it ourselves. *blood boiling*

5) The supervisor refused to give us any discounts although they've spoilt our things. So hubby called their BOSS and asked for RM50 discount. The BOSS agreed but the supervisor wasn't happy.

6) THEY OPENED ONE OF THE BOX!
Once in the car, I was telling hubby that we better pay them full because I am afraid that they will damage our things on purpose because they looked really pissed. So I called the supervisor and told him that we will pay him full and got him to take care of our things.

But my mom found out that one of her box were ripped open but luckily nothing were stolen because that  box contained my baby's toys and piggy bank. I think if we were to pay them less, they would have taken my baby's piggy bank. Curse them!!!

From that experience, I would never ever ever ever ever hire these kind of people to move our things anymore the next time we move house again. I rather pay more for the professional house movers. At least not so stress!

Me and hubby went back to our old house the next night to carry the TV back. It wassssssssssss so heavy I wasn't able to carry it. So I went and seek help from one of the neighbour.

And for the remaining of the boxes, mom called another lorry, and got everything moved into our new home. Chinese drivers, 1-tonne lorry, father and son, and they managed to move everything from the 3rd floor into their lorry in 20 minutes! I salute them and they only charged RM200!

Damn those annehs!
