Wedding Is A Once In A Lifetime Event, Don't Be Stingy!

I was stitching some swarovski crystals to a customer's gown and got really pissed when I overheard this conversation between my boss and her customer.

Customer: Wedding is such a waste of money. (She said this while trying to negotiate the price to tailormake her wedding gown)

Boss: Wedding is a once in a lifetime thing. Even if you don't tailormake your wedding gown you still need to waste money to rent the wedding gown. What about dinner reception? All that involves money too. If you want to calculate until like that then better no need to have the wedding.

Customer: I ALSO DUN WANT TO MARRY ONE MAH NOW MAKE ME "*FAN" NIA

*Fan means stressed in Mandarin.

After she said this my first reaction was "WT-TOOT!!" and my second reaction was to bitch about it to my husband.

I mean come on lah, wedding is supposed to be a happy event which marks the start of the marriage life between you and your husband. Why say until like you are being forced to get married. I will be really sad if I am to be husband. How many girls out there who is hoping to get married but unable to do so due to some circumstances. Want to complain pulak...Amboooiii...

Furthermore, wedding is like once in a lifetime thingy, it's not like you are gonna get married twice or once a month. So I think that it is completely alright to spend some money to make it grand and memorable. It's not like you get to wear a wedding gown all the time pun.

Take me for example, I was stingy about getting an expensive make-up artist for my wedding day so in the end I appointed a cheapo makeup artist and ended up looking older than my hubby's grandmother.

And trust me, up till today I still cried looking at the photographs taken that day. I looked freaking hideous although hubby had consoled me that I still look ok on that day. But I don't want to look OK on my wedding day, I want to be pretty, the PRETTIEST on that day, THE BOMB! I wanna look flawless. But due to my stinginess I looked like a grandma that day. FML!

See, if I had paid for a professional makeup artist which charges a few hundreds extra I would looked like this....

So what I am saying is you dun marry for many many times, it's just ONE time when you can get to splurge to look pretty on your big day so just go for it and look for the BEST and only the best vendors you can get. Do researchs, and don't do last minute appointments like what I did. Don't let the price blinds you and end up regretting about it for the rest of your life. Trust me!
